I know I have another post here too, but it's a COMPLETELY different subject so I started a new one.
Ok I did p90 and lost a good amount of weight, then I did SI6 and didn't loose anything...in fact I gained(I'm talking body fat, not just weight). Now I'm p90X and have done the first phase(first 4 weeks)with ok results I mean I didn't really notice inches lossed but the bodyfat counter leads me to beleive I did loose some bodyfat...not what I wanted but some. My question is this. I have a friend who is really lean and cut(6 pack and whole nine), who swears by atkins to get cut and loose like 10 lbs quickly to really get in tip top physical condition. Could I do Atkins for lets say 3 or 4 weeks, while doing p90X to really loose the 10 or 15 lbs of bodyfat that I want? Now, I know Beachbody is a atkins free zone...and the main reason is because people gaint he weight back when they are off atkins...but couldn't I do atkins for 3 weeks, to loose like 10 to 15 lbs and finally get rid of this belly and get that 6 pack I want, then go back to the regular p90X diet and still maintain that same leaness and miantane my results? Or will I gain weight right back just because I'm eating carbs again? I thought that peopel who did atkins and gained weight after was because they went back to their old lifestyle afterwards...but wouldn't going back to p90X diet eliminate that? Honestly I just want to get this over with..I"ve been doing beach body programs for 2 years almost now and I have got amazing reults at first but for some reason I just cannot seem for the life of me to get to the next level no matter how hard I try... It's very discouraging and I honestly want to quit. But I know I can't. I was overweight my whole life and I just want the athletic lean cut build I've always wanted. I'm so close yet so far and have no idea what to do. |

Like all the rest of the low carb diets, if you do Atkins according to the rules, no, the reintroduction of carbs won't hurt you because that's the entire point of the diet. Atkins, South Beach, all of them slowly reintroduce good carbs, like fruits, veggies and whole grains back into a diet. It's just that we live in a freakish MTV society where people just read the blurb and think they know the whole diet, so they spend the next two years eating hamburger wrapped in lettuce.
I, personally, don't like Atkins because it doesn't account for thing like saturated fat. The first phase of 90x is low carb, but it does it in a more resposible way. But if you want to try Atkins, knock yourself out. I don't think it's any good, but it's really up to you. |
