When is the best time of day to work out? Does it matter? I'm SO NOT a morning person! I really think I'd stick with it better if I worked out about two hours before I go to bed each night. (A nice hot shower afterward would help me relax and go to sleep, too...) I'm just concerned that this may not be the optimum time to burn fat.

Also, if I do work out in the evening, does it matter when I take the supplements?

Good for you, SuzieQ! I am so excited for you - the program works if you go about it as seriously as you are.

Honestly - the best time to workout is when you feel the most confident that you can make a routine out of it. I like working out in the morning - but I do find that my energy is not as intense as it is during an early evening workout. The only thing about working out too close to bed is it might keep you awake since you'll be all charged up. But that varies from person to person too.

The supplement guidelines are the same based on the directions we provided; I suggest taking them all at one time in the morning, or right before bed for consistency. The Performance Formula is also good to take an hour before you workout. But either way, this is not a fragile of a system. The advantages will find their way to you as long as you stay with the program and supplements.

Again, routine, and consistency are key - so workout at whatever time works for you. AND MAKE SURE TO TAKE A BEFORE PICTURE!

Go for it! smile

I have a lot of weight to lose, so I was very interested in the fat burning tips such as eating 5 times a day and also not eating before you work out. If you are supposed to have breakfast within an hour of waking up, and continue ever 2-3 hours, when is the best time to work out in regard to diet?? confused

I like to work out first thing in the morning. Some of my friends can't stand to work out then but, for me, it gets me going for the day and I'm finished working out by the time I'm fully awake.

Cheers,

Manny

Hey, fellow SusieQ, I'm Suzyqz!
I have tried both morning and evening and I found that in the evening for me sometimes I was too tired from my day and then I didn't have the motivation to exercise or I would want to finish something I hadn't got done that day instead of exercising. I found that after I'm up an hour in the morning, I have the energy to do it. Another important reason I chose the morning is that the energy your body is using will more likely be from stored fat because of fasting through the night. In the evening you would be burning carbs from what you ate during the day. Or you may want to eat your last meal 2-3 hours before you exercise and then go to bed hungry, you will burn fat because you body needs energy to replace what you just spent! Does that make sense to you? Good luck!

As stated before, the most important thing is that you DO workout. There are advantages and disadvantages to every time of day.

Most people "peak" during the middle of the afternoon. They have been awake long enough to be warmed up and eaten (hopefully) so that their blood sugar levels are higher and they are not worn out yet. This peak period is optimal for an intense workout.

However, there are many other important factors, mainly each person's schedule. Working out whenever you can is infinitely better than not working out.

Working out in the morning, like Manny said, is popular because it gets it out of the way. It also helps to raise the body's metabolism for the day so it's a good practice for losing weight. However, because you don't have any blood sugar first thing in the morning some find this practice torturous.

SuzieQ,
As you can see by the replies it is a preference thing. Personally I am at it at 6am. I am fresh with a good nights sleep. The rest of the house is still asleep(no distractions)and in an hour I am done and on my way! What a great way to start a day!
As Brian Tracy says the first 30 -40 minutes of each day are the most important as they set the tempo for what you take in. This is nothing but positive food for the brain and it only rockets me to success(you are what you eat, see, or think)
You may be out of your comfort zone in the AM , but if you can do it, go for it! Your comfort zone will expand and you will find it easier as time goes on. Hey that's just like Power 90!
Good luck to you soon!

Results will vary. Weight loss may be temporary as exercise and proper diet are required to maintain long-term weight loss and muscle gain.
