Would it work well for men? I would also like to know what the amount in milligrams is the pyruvate and green tea extract. I have been taking green tea extract from GNC for about two months now and I can tell a difference in my energy expenditure already. But I was thinking of getting some pyruvate to help me. By the way what is the difference between calcium pyruvate and sodium pyruvate.
Yes, in studies it has worked just as well for men and for women. One daily serving contains 3900mg of sodium pyruvate and 150mg of green tea extract.
Pyruvic acid is unstable unless it is bonded with a mineral. The most common forms of pyruvate are sodium, calcium, magnesium, or potassium. Since we use calcium and potassium in the Activit formula, and magnesium in the PF, we chose sodium the SF. None in amounts that are at all excessive, given the amount of exercise associated with our programs. And, since all of these minerals should be avoided in excessive dosages we opted to use a bit of each.
