I understand the need to do sculpting one day and cardio the next. Muscles need the time off to rest in between work outs.

But what about the ab ripper? I do it with the cardio tape because it's part of the routine. Can I do the ab ripper after the circuit too? I've heard some say it's okay to do every day and others have said not to.

Tony, I need to know what you advise. The last thing I want to do is compromise my results! What's the 411?

By the way, I am on day 16 and completely thrilled with the program! Thanks, Beth T.

I just wrote this to someone else:

You do not want to workout your abs everyday. It is true that muscles of the abdominal region have a higher percentage of red, or slow twitch, muscle fibers than many larger muscles which makes them able to recover faster. This is why people often say that it okay to work them each day. But okay and good are two different things. Muscles only grow and get stronger while at rest. If you err, it is better to over rest than overtrain. Therefore, it's better to totally hammer your abs and then give them a day off to grow strong than to work them each day and compromise their recovery.

Hey Beth,

The Fitnessadvisor is dead on. Recovery is where the action is. Work hard while doing the ab routines (maintaining good form) then give them a days rest. So glad you like the program.

Results will vary. Weight loss may be temporary as exercise and proper diet are required to maintain long-term weight loss and muscle gain.
